New Vision staff were in imperious form winning both the athletics and football competitions to emerge as the best team at the 2019 Media Sports Gala held at Namboole Stadium on Sunday.

The leading daily collected 35 points to win the athletics competition, beating  their nearest rivals Dream TV by 5 points while they also dominated  the football contest to emerge best, and relegating 25 other teams that had showed up in football, athletics and netball.

On a fun-filled day littered with activity on four pitches, running track and netball courts, New Vision defeated their mates Bukedde from Vision Group 1-0 in the football final at dusk.

Mande Kyomukama scored the winner while Baba TV edged Galaxy FM via penalties for third place.

New Vision was unstoppable in athletics, winning the men’s 200m as well as the men and women’s 4x100m relay finals.

Dream TV came second on track with 30 points following the women’s 200m win and third place in the women’s relay.

In netball, Impact FM defeated four others to the trophy after garnering seven points, one ahead of New Vision.
