The Lugogo side that drew 0-0 in the first leg in Luanda a week ago, needed to win to qualify but they were eliminated on away goals rule despite putting up an improved performance in the second half.

The game that started slowly saw the visitors register the first shot through Isaac Mensah which was saved by goalkeeper Charles Lukwago.
 
KCCA upped the tempo after 20 minutes with Allan Okello testing goalkeeper Elber Jorge Mota.
 
However, Petro were awarded a penalty in the 25th minute after Lukwago brought down Mensah in the box.
 
Captain Job Estevao stood up to take the penalty thus giving the visitors a 1-0 lead.  KCCA tried to bounce back in the second half with the introduction of Sadat Anaku and Simon Sserunkuuma for Jackson Nunda and Herbert Achai respectively.

Indeed, this raised KCCA’s performance with Mustafa Kizza leveling matters from a Filbert Obenchan throw-in.
 
KCCA will now compete in the play-off round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
