It will be a motorsport festival at this year's edition of the Total Kabalega Rally on October 17-20 in Hoima.

Four activities that include karting, vintage car show, drifting will be part of the event that is also the sixth round of National Rally Championship.

Event Manager Alex Kikonyongo confirmed the activities at the launch of the event held in Kampala on Tuesday.

"We are committed to having a successful event and together with my team, we shall give the people of Hoima the best," Kikonyongo said.

Deputy Clerk of the Course Jareed Kalera said  the rally will cover a total distance of 300kms of which 173.8kms are competitive and 129.2kms are liaison.

"We shall have six competitive stages that include Kyentale (18.2kms), Kikwata Miigo (11.42kms), Musaija Mukuru (21.11kms), Worldwide Movers (26.35kms), Bugambe Team (17.73kms and Kitooba (31.52kms),"  Kalera explained.

The event co-sponsored by Total, World Wide Movers, Grand Praclos Hotel, Victoria University, Miika Eco Resort Hotel, Coca cola and , Kontik Hotel is growing towards a sports carnival according to UMOSPOC Vice president Justin Mungoma.

Drivers including Ronald Ssebuguzi, Samuel Bwete, Yassin Nasser, Ponsiano Lwakataka, Rajiv Ruparelia, Arthur Blick Dr.Godfrey Lubega, Dr. Ahmed Ashraf, Christakis Fitidis, Omar Mayanja, Timothy Gawaya and Hassan Alwi Jr are the top drivers among the thirty drivers that have confirmed their participation.

Deadline is for registration is October 11.

The event is co-sponsored by Club Q7, Hoima Resort, Spice FM, Kings FM, BetOn and Uganda Communications Communication.
