Uganda will for the first time in eight years host the Council of East and Central Africa Football Association (CECAFA) Under-20 championship that starts September 21.
Gulu, Jinja, Kampala have been reserved though yet to be inspected, to host the two-week tournament that is sponsored by FIFA.
A total of sh3.6b was sent to CECAFA from FIFA to cater for different competitions this year as one of the ways to rejuvenate football in East African Community (EAC) member states.
Hosts Uganda will be joined by other countries such as Kenya, Tanzania, Somalia, Rwanda, Burundi, Eritrea, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Sudan and neighbours South Sudan
Uganda won the past two editions of the tournament, in 2006 and 2010 in Tanzania and Eritrea respectively.
