KCCA FC is facing a crisis in the striking department since the departure of strikers Patrick Kaddu and Allan Kyambadde for professional stints in North Africa.

This though could be solved with emerging reports that the reigning league champions are on the verge of signing Nigerian forward John Odumegwu.

Odumegwu tormented KCCA's defenders when they faced Nigeria's Rivers United in the CAF Confederation Cup group stages in 2017.

"I think I will sign today (Tuesday) although the club wants to give me a one-year deal yet I prefer a two-year deal," noted Odumegwu in an interview with New Vision Sport at Lugogo.

Should he put pen to paper, he would join John Revita, Erisa Ssekisambu and Simon Sserunkuma as the other KCCA recruits.

If the deal is completed, he will become the second Nigerian to play for KCCA FC after midfielder Suleiman Akinyemi who later departed for Zambia's Buildcon.

KCCA has struggled for goals recently, something coach Mike Mutebi is keen to resolve.

Youngster Sadat Anaku who was promoted from the club's junior side has been leading the frontline in the interim.
