Uganda mourns former IGP Kisembo

Police confirmed that their former boss passed on Thursday evening at around 3 pm, at Platinum hospital in Kampala.

 

KAMPALA - The Uganda Police Force has joined the rest of the country to mourn the demise of its former Inspector General of Police (IGP) John Kisembo.

Police confirmed that their former boss passed on Thursday evening at around 3 pm, at Platinum hospital in Kampala.

Kisembo succeeded John Cossy Odomel and served between 1999 and 2001, and he was succeeded by Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala, in November 2001.

In the Police statement, the Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga said the deceased will be remembered for the excellent leadership during his term of service.

By the time of his death, he was the acting Director, of the United Nations African Institute for the Prevention of Crime (UNAFRI)

Meanwhile, the IGP Martin Okoth Ochola has instructed the Director in charge of Welfare and Production to work with the family to ensure he is honoured in a befitting manner.
