Masaza Cup: Buddu fined over fan violence

The Masaza Cup organising committee has fined Buddu points and money over the fan violence that broke out during last week's match against Mawokota that ended prematurely.

It should be recalled that Mawokota won the game 1-0 but Buddu fans alleged that the centre referee was biased because he didn't award them a penalty during the game.

Secondly, Buddu fans were also unhappy over the home team increasing the match entry fees from sh5,000 to sh10,000.

In one the decisions taken, Buddu will pay sh5m before their next game. They have also been deducted two points goals and two goals.

The committee headed by Sulaiman Ssejjengo, further revealed the return leg between Buddu and Mawokota that was supposed to be played at Masaka Recreation Ground, will take place at Namboole Stadium, neutral ground, with no fans and not more than 35 people.

Buddu will also pay sh400,000 to repair a car that was damaged car during the fracas in Mpigi. Their manager David Byaruhaga has also been banned from the technical bench for the next two competitive games.

The committee also fired Mawokota security officer James Kiyingi.
