Two players dropped from the preliminary national team squad

In UAE, the squad will be reduced 23, who will feature in the Total AFCON Finals in Egypt.

 

Uganda Cranes head Coach Sebastien Desabre has dropped two players from the preliminary national team squad that starts preparations for the forthcoming 2019 Total AFCON Finals tournaments in Egypt.

The players released include; striker Joel Madondo who left the country for trials in Turkey and defender Brian Majwega who was let go due to discipline issues. The duo has been replaced with Vipers striker Dan Sserunkuma and Disan Galiwango of Express.

The rest of other summoned players entered camp at Kabira Country Club for residential training. Thereafter, a 26 man squad will be selected with the inclusion of the foreign players who will further train in the United Arab Emirates.

In UAE, the squad will be reduced 23, who will feature in the Total AFCON Finals in Egypt.

The AFCON finals that get underway from June 21 and July 19 will have 24 teams taking part for the first time. 

Uganda is placed in Group A alongside hosts Egypt, Zimbabwe and DRC. They will face DRC on June 22 in their opening game.
