Juniors to showcase in Enduro

In the Enduro and buggy category, champion and crowd favourite Ali Omar Yasser will be missing due to an injury

Youngsters Waleed Omar, Wazir Omar, Amina Mayanja and Mubarak Mayanja will battle for national honours in the junior's category of the National Enduro Championship.
 
This was disclosed by the Enduro Uganda Club resident on Wednesday at the launch of the first round of the National Enduro, 4x4 cars and autocross championship to be held in Zion Estate Sisa Wakiso district on Sunday.
 
The three in one event will have autocross competitors showcase in the 5.8km route for two runs to tally the 11.6kms in total, Enduro riders will battle in the 12km section for three hours non-stop while 4x4 drivers will have the parking challenge.
 
"We have drawn the route with both smooth and rough sections which will give competitors a good challenge ahead of the NRC event in Masaka," Tendo Mutale the event manager said.
 
Autocross is a rally competition for especially those learners who aspire to join the National rally championship competition and other top drivers can use it to master certain things on their cars.
 
In the enduro and buggy category, champion and crowd favourite Ali Omar Yasser popularly known as Bobo will be missing due to an injury, but his brothers Waleed and Wazir fill the gap.
 
"We are having the junior category in Enduro for riders below 15years. Whereas the seniors will go for three hours without rest, the juniors will be 20minutes of rest after every 30 minutes during the race," clerk of the course Sam Ssewalu noted.
 
In the 4x4 cars, drivers will have a parking challenge and one who parks in the bet place gets bonus points.
