Fire sweeps through mattress store in Kampala

KAMPALA - A fierce fire has swept through a mattress store in Kampala, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake, as firefighters battled to snuff it out.

While the actual cause of the fire is not known yet, it is alleged that sparks from welding works nearby set it off. New Vision's Timothy Murungi rushed to the scene when the news of the outbreak spread and once there, he captured these pictures that tell the destruction that has left property worth millions of shillings lost.
