Meanwhile, last year's surprise semifinalists, Bugema started their campaign off with a 1-0 victory away at Bishop Stuart thanks to Johnson Mubiru's 26th-minute header on Friday afternoon.
On Sunday, IUIU managed to hold Gulu University to a goalless draw in Gulu.
