Buganda King reshuffles cabinet

The changes that have seen some retain their seats and others given new positions are expected to take immediate effect.

CABINET RESHUFFLE

KAMPALA - The King of Buganda, His Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has reshuffled the Kingdom Cabinet this evening.

The changes have seen some retain their seats and others given new positions.


Charles Peter Mayiga has retained his seat as the Kingdom premier, Henry Ssekabembe has retained his seat as Minister for Youth, Sports and Recreation, Noah Kiyimba has retained his seat as Minister for information, protocal and Kingdom Spokesperson, among others.

Dr. Twaha Kawaase who was serving as the 2nd Deputy Prime Minister & Minister for Education is now the First Deputy Prime Minister in charge of administration and ICT/Innovations replacing Emmanuel L Ssendaula who is now the Chairperson of the senior Kingdom Advisors' Committee.

Apollo Nelson Makubuya, who was formerly the 3rd Deputy Prime Minister and minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs is now the Chief Advisor of the Buganda Kingdom.

David Mpanga who was the Attorney General and Minister of Local Government is now the Minister in charge of special assignments.

Robert Waggwa Nsibirwa who was serving as the Minister for Finance, Investment, Planning and Economic Development is now the 2nd Deputy Prime Minister and Treasurer.

The changes made by the King are expected to take effect immediately.
