President George Weah hails Uganda, Liberia Relations

The President stated this in Monrovia while receiving the letters accrediting Nelson Ocheger as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uganda to the Republic of Liberia.

The President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency George Weah has hailed the cordial relations that exist between his country and Uganda. 
 
The President stated this in Monrovia while receiving the letters accrediting Nelson Ocheger as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uganda to the Republic of Liberia.
 
Referring to Uganda as a great country, President Weah welcomed the appointment of Ambassador Nelson Ocheger and reiterated his commitment to work closely with the later to strengthen the existing bilateral relations between Liberia and Uganda
In his response, Ambassador Nelson Ocheger thanked his guest for the warm welcome accorded to him and undertook to consolidate good ties between the two countries as it resonates with the desire and commitment of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to strengthen these relations. 
 
He stated that he will focus on political and diplomatic consultations on all issues of mutual interest including regional and African integration given that both countries have a deep desire for political, economic and infrastructural integration of the African continent. 
 
Ambassador Ocheger informed his guest that there is great potential for cooperation between the two countries especially in the areas of commercial agriculture, mining including oil exploration and exploitation, education, energy and infrastructural development. 

He pointed out that the signing in March 2018, of the Agreement establishing the African Continental Free Trade Area, has provided East and West Africa with the impetus to invest in air, rail, land and water transport in order to facilitate the movement of goods and services across Africa. 
 
Ambassador Ocheger proposed the establishment of a cooperation framework between Uganda and Liberia to ensure implementation and follow up of agreed issues.
 
The ceremony was attended, among others, by the Liberian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Gbehzohngar Milton Findley and Mr. Nurh Byarufu, the Minister Counselor at the Uganda High Commission in Abuja.
