The incident forced the congregation to flee for their dear lives. Hakiza told New Vision that the deceased was also a bursar at St. Jerome Academy Kihangi.

Hakiza said another woman whom police could not readily identify got injured and was rushed to Hoima regional referral hospital for treatment.

He said a case CRB 195/2018 of sudden death had been reported to police by Reverend Father Kyaligonza Mathias, a catholic priest attached to Munteme catholic parish, who was at the time presiding over the mass.

Hakiza said police visited the scene where the incident happened. A post mortem was done, while investigations are still ongoing.

Meanwhile, Deus Bashabwomu the area councilor urged UMEME to sort the mess concerning the electric poles, adding that many people might fall victim as a result.
