The Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi is in the Chinese South Western Province of Hubei, Chinese where he will address leaders from world leading cities gathering in the provincial capital Wuhan for International Friendship Cities Conference 2018.
Leaders from over 40 cities will be converging in Wuhan to discuss technological and environmental amenities that will promote sustainable development and smart environment for world city dwellers and travelers in the next 50 years.
The Vice President who is the Chairman of China Africa Local Governments Forum will also have sideline meetings with Chinese high ranking Government leaders and officials of the China Association for Friendship with Foreign countries.
The Vice President who is being accompanied by Mayors of Entebbe and Masaka Municipalities was received in Wuhan by the Provincial Communist Party and City leaders will also address Uganda Students at Wuhan University and also meet leaders from the nearby province of Sichuan.
He will also witness the signing of MOUs of co-operation between various cities and also address an investment promotion conference on investment opportunities in Uganda where he will lobby for more Chinese investment in Uganda.
Ssekandi and his delegation will also hold talks with the leaders of the neighbouring province of Sichuan about agriculture and technological collaboration with the relevant institutions in Uganda and students exchange programmes.
The Vice President and his entourage were received in Wuhan early today by the Governor of Hebei Wang Xiaod, Wuhan Municipal secretary Wang Yong, the Vice Chairperson of China Friendship with Foreign Lee wang and Uganda ambassador Cripus Kiyonga.
