Kabale Police investigate 72-year-old man's murder

Buturoha’s lifeless body was on Tuesday morning found in a pool of blood, pierced with a sharp object in the neck and cuts on the head, Elly Maate, the Kigezi Police Spokesperson said.

Police in Kabale district have started investigations into the murder of a 72-year-old man, identified as Jack Buturoha, a resident of Rugarama II village Kavu parish Maziba sub-county in Kabale district.

"Buturoha was allegedly murdered on Sunday night about 300 meters away from his home by yet unknown assailants in Maziba sub-county. Buturoha's lifeless body was on Tuesday morning found in a pool of blood, pierced with a sharp object in the neck and cuts on the head,"  Elly Maate, the Kigezi Police Spokesperson said.

Maate told New Vision that Police were notified by the deceased's wife Joy Akampurira aged 49.

However, according to Maate, Akampurira was later detained  to help the Police in investigations, after her failure to account for  her husband's death yet they had been seen together prior to Buturoha's death.

Quoting eye witnesses, Maate said the duo had been seen at the bar in Ahambungo trading centre in Maziba sub-county.

"She has been detained with her son, Manzi Brave and three others known as Richard Kuribakanya, Robert Mwesigwa and Edison Turyakira all of the above address to help in investigations ," Maate said.
