Volleyball star Daudi Okello moves

His reasons for joining Tokat are based on the clubs ambitions

Daudi Okello left Turkish volleyball giants Galatasaray to join newly promoted Tokat Pelediye Plevnespor on a one year contract.

The Ugandan outside hitter/opposite joined Galatasaray while they were in seventh place, but has left them in fourth and in the Champions League.

His reasons for joining Tokat are based on the clubs ambitions especially because they have signed many top quality players in order to compete in the Premier League.

"The two teams play in different cities, but what made me join Tokat, is the fact that it's a new team with great transfers of new professional players with a lot of ambition," explained Okello.

This team did not offer Okello the Champion's League opportunity he hoped for but the club is in the volleyball crazy city of Tokat and they have a lot of promise.

"I have moved to a very promising team with an attractive project in place, good coaching systems and other things that favour me as a player," he admitted.

The former UCU Doves and KAVC player now has to help his team force their way into the top four because they lack for nothing.

This is an optimistic time for Ugandan volleyball especially because there are two other players in Bulgaria also playing professional volleyball.
