Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi, who has been in the US for weeks returned today. He was picked from the Airport by the Police and driven to his home in Magere, Kasangati in Wakiso district.
Kyagulanyi, whose supporters and a section of opposition politicians had planned to receive, could not meet them because the Police had warned the politicians and the public not to hold any meeting or procession.
Although a few people still went to the airport to receive them, the Police swiftly picked Kyagulanyi on arrival and whisked him away.
To ensure their directeives were heeded to, the Police and army deployed in and around Kampala and Entebbe, including parts of Kasangati, Kamwokya and at his home in Magere.
According to the Police spokesperson Emilian Kayima, Kyagulanyi co-operated with the Police and was escoted to his home.
Kayima denies reports that some journalists were arrested. He says a few were held and questioned after which they were let to continue with their work.
Earlier, Police deployments ensured calm within the city and surrounding areas.
