Former Police chief, Gen. Kale Kayihura, faces death if he is convicted of the charges of failure to protect war materials that were read to him before the General Court martial in Makindye, Kampala, Friday.
The court chairman, Lt. Gen. Andrew Gutti, informed Kayihura that he faces three counts which include two of failure to protect war materials and one of aiding the kidnapping and illegal repatriation of Rwandans.
The 62-year-old Kayihura, whose army number is RO 00513, told court that he properly understood the charges. But he denied all of them. He returns to court on August 28 for hearing of his bail application, and on September 4, for further mention of his case.
