FMU recognises Marshals

FMU SPRINT CHAMPIONSHIP 2 


The Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) Chief Dusman Okee on Wednesday recognised the good work done by Safety Marshal and Time Marshals during the Pearl of Africa Uganda rally.

Before handing over the plaques to the Uganda Motorsport Marshals Association (UMMA) and Uganda Motorsport Safety Marshals Association (UMSMA), Okee said despite the digital timing clocks getting damaged, the two bodies did their best to have a successful event.

Meanwhile, rally drivers will use Sunday's FMU Sprint Championship to test their machines ahead of the highly billed UMPOSPOC Kabalega rally next month.

While launching the second round of the national Sprint to be held in Festino Cite Mukono on Sunday, FMU President Okee said the event will be highly competitive.

"It is not all about winning the Sprint Championship, but it is going to be extremely competitive because drivers will be out know how best their machines are as they look foward to Kabalega rally in Hoima."

The Kabalega rally will be the second last event on the National rally championship (NRC) calendar and all drivers target collecting maximum points and that will make Sunday sprint competitive.

Clerk of the Course (COC), Charles Ssemengo said the drivers will showcase in double circuit sprint that will have two cars go at once in the 6.6km event.

The event co-sponsored by Grand Praclos Garden Mukono, Lato Milk, Fire and Safety appliance has sofar 18 drivers confirming their participation with the entry closing on Saturday.
