Modern Pentathlon comes to Uganda

The sport has been part of the Olympics for the last 100 years

Another Olympic sport Modern Pentathlon has been launched in Uganda.

Modern pentathlon is comprises of five different events; fencing , freestyle swimming (200m), equestrian show jumping (15 jumps), and a final combined event of pistol shooting and cross country running (3200m).

The sport has been part of the Olympics for the last 100 years, the president of Uganda Modern Pentathlon Federation (UMPF) Simon Peter Komakech said.

At an event held over the weekend at St. Johns Baptist P.S in Kisugu, Joel Serugo won the under 13 category, while Yusuf Razaki won the under 15 category.

Kenyan Barbra Kangwana won in the senior women category as Patrick Otai won in the men followed by Kenyan Collins Kiprop.
