KAMPALA - Aziz Damani's impressive run is not only justified by a desire to retain the league but rather redefining cricket on the local scene.
 
All along, their golden plan is to present a history re-write of sorts by becoming the most successful club in Uganda.
 
Having ended Tornado Bee's four-year grip on the title last year, there is a sense of so much more to come from Siva Koti's Damani.
 
With the second round of the league underway, the club remains the only unbeaten side in the top tier.
 
On 36 points, they are getting closer to defending the title in a very convincing manner.
 
Riazat Shah struck brutally with a century of 108 from 105 balls in Damani's 86 runs victory over KICC Sunday at the tricky Entebbe oval.
 
The holders continue to win in commanding fashion this season in spite of the stiff competition signals at the start of the campaign.
 
Saud Islam weighed in with a commendable half ton of 58 from 56 balls in what turned out to be a free scoring innings for Aziz Damani.
 
Damani  defended their 278 score courtesy of Bilal Hasun ‘s 5 wicket haul to restrict KICC to 192 despite impressive figures from Pankal Shatpute who scored a half century of 80 from 74 balls.
 
Meanwhile, Aneef Mohamed displayed a masterstroke performance scoring a century (100 off 923 balls) as Challengers upstaged Ceylon Lions by 32 runs at Kyambogo. The "forgotten" Arthur Kyobe struck a half century of 70 off 85 balls.
 
The weekend action was further dorminated by centuries with Premier's Rajesh Nair scoring 140 from 101 in Premier's 4wicket win over Strikers at Lugogo.
 
In division two, Chrictopher Ozele picked 4 wickets whenNile defeated hosts Budo by 2 wickets. Nile are eager to bounce back following their relegation from the topflight.
