KCCA FC striker Derrick Nsibambi is on the verge of joining Egyptian side Smouha.

Nsibambi who was left out on Thursday as KCCA thrashed Synergy 9-0 in the 2nd leg of the Uganda Cup semifinal, travelled to Egypt on Sunday with his agent Geoffrey Kayemba to undergo a medical and finalise his move.

"We are still discussing his move but hopeful by Wednesday, everything will be sorted," confirmed KCCA FC chairman Aggrey Ashaba.

The former Kireka United player scored nine goals in the league last season.

If Nsibambi completes the move to Smouha, he will join Hassan Wasswa (El Geish) and Isaac Muleme (Al Asyouty Sport) as the other Ugandans currently playing in the Egyptian top tier.

Smouha finished fifth last season with 51 points.

In a related development, another KCCA FC striker, Muhammad Shaban, has also been linked to Zamalek.

It is reported that the Egyptian giants are willing to offer KCCA $100,000 for the former Onduparaka skipper.
