Uganda have secured promotion to the ICC World Cricket League Divison Three after the Cricket Cranes beat Jersey to be crowned Divison Four champions in Malaysia

Uganda were promoted along with Denmark.

Hosts Malaysia, who finished third, and fourth-place finishers Jersey remained in Divison Four.

Vanuatu and Bermuda were relegated to Division Five for finishing fifth and sixth, respectively.

Uganda started off the tournament on a losing note - beaten by Malaysia by nine runs.

But a 189-run victory over Bermuda in Bangi put the Cricket Cranes back on track.

From then on, it was all uphill for Uganda as they went on to beat Vanuatu by 81 runs in Kuala Lumpur.

Next up, a duel with Denmark, who had beaten the hosts in the runup, presented a tough test for the East African cricket giant. But again, it was victory for Uganda.

The final exam for the Cricket Cranes arrived in the form of Jersey on Sunday. It was a tight one, but with Uganda reigning supreme (winning by seven runs).

As such, it was double delight for Uganda as they won the tournament as well as secured elevation to Division Three.
