Makerere University has suspended Dr. Edward Kisuze, a senior administrative assistant in the academic registrar's office over sexual harassment.

Kisuze was this week exposed by a female student, Racheal Njoroge Njeri, while he was molesting her in his office.

Following the leak, Prof. William Bazeyo, the acting University vice-chancellor asked Kisuze to submit a written report by April 17, on the allegations against him.

Kisuze was suspended on half pay pending investigations. Dr Kisuze was also asked to handover all university property to the academic registrar.

"I hereby suspend you from University Service with immediate effect to allow a smooth Investigation into the matter," reads a letter to Kisuze.

He has also been advised to desist from accessing the Senate building or interacting with Makerere University students until investigations are completed.

"You are further required to hand over all university property that may be in your possession," reads the letter.

Speaking to New Vision, Ritah Namisango, the university spokesperson said Kisuze has been arrested and he is at Wandegeya Police Station.

Last month, Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe suspended Dr. Swizen Kyomuhendo, a lecturer in the department of social work and social administration, over the same allegations.
