Ex-Zanzibar President Karume to visit Uganda

The Global Peace Conference is slated for August 1 at Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort in Kampala

VISIT | CONFERENCE

The former President of Zanzibar, Amani Abeid Karume, is expected to jet into the country tomorrow.

According a statement issued by the Government, Karume will be accompanied by a delegation from the US-based Global Peace organisation.

"…The former President of Zanzibar is arriving in Uganda tomorrow with a delegation from the Global Peace headquarters in Washington for the launch of the Global Peace activities ahead of the Global Peace conference..," the statement said.

The Global Peace Conference is slated for August 1 at Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort in Kampala.

Upon arrival in Uganda, Karume will be received by the public service minister, Wilson Muruli Mukasa, who is the co-ordinator of Global Peace in Uganda.
