The Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) president, Moses Muhangi has vowed to develop the sport by uplifting boxing standards.
During a two day strategic planning workshop in Masaka on Saturday, Muhangi said that boxers are the pillars of the federation and clubs and they need to be considered first in the sport.
"Boxing has suffered a lot because leaders always have selfish interests than developing the boxers. In my strategic plan, I plan to uplift the boxing standards where the clubs will be monitored and encouraged to nurture their athletes. Boxers mus start earning from their talents," said Muhangi.
The workshop was attended by 40 leaders and coaches from different clubs and they also moved a motion to review the constitution claiming that it has many loop holes.
