After his declaration, Bbale promised to ensure that the students' welfare is catered for.

"Since we became a public university, the Government started contributing towards our development. Therefore, it is an expectation of students to see an improvement in their welfare since we pay a lot of money," Bbale said.

He also promised to lobby for more donors to support the university.

"Where we are now, the university demands more donors to kick off as far as development is concerned," he said.

Rosette Kobusingye, a second year student of the diploma in information communication technology, said their next guild president should help in bridging the gap between students and the administration.

"Our administration passes out policies that do not at times meet students' interests. We, therefore, pray that our guild president-elect should reconcile students' interests with administration," she said.
