Museveni meets Kazakhstan investors

Sobotka told the President that his company wants to invest in the extraction of copper and cobalt in Uganda, according to a release from State House.

President Yoweri Museveni has held talks with investors from Kazakhstan who called on him at State House, Entebbe.

During the meeting on Tuesday, the Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation chief executive officer, Benedikt Sobotka, expressed interest in investing in the mining industry in Uganda.

Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation is a leading private multinational diversified natural resources' company with operations in Africa in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Mozambique, Zambia and South Africa. Elsewhere, the company operates in Russia, Brazil and China.

Sobotka told the President that his company wants to invest in the extraction of copper and cobalt in Uganda, according to a release from State House.

Museveni who welcomed the company's interest in Uganda's mining sector called for the construction of processing facilities where minerals are fully processed to maximize revenue.
