Kabale - A total of 36 teams will take part in the third edition of the soccer-to-unite football tournament starting this Saturday in Kabale municipality.
While addressing a press conference at Victoria Guest House in Kabale, Andrew Amanya, the soccer-to-unite national co-ordinator, said this year's tournament will see 20 boys' teams and 16 girls' teams competing.
He added that the games will be played in small-sided pitches and small-sized goal posts. The tournament winning teams will get trophies, while players will be awarded gold medals.
Speaking at the same platform, Monica Kankeera, the Soccer-to-unite secretary, said the tournament is also encouraging the development of girls' participation in football. She said this will boost their fitness and also improve their chances towards professional football.
