Rally drivers cautioned on over speeding

Event manager Jeff Kabagambe warned at the launch of the rally in Jinja on Tuesday.

Drivers who over-speed in the transport sections of the FMU challenge rally that starts on March 2 to 4 in Jinja, will be penalised for the any accidents they may cause.

Event manager Jeff Kabagambe warned at the launch of the rally in Jinja on Tuesday.

“We have been having several incidents where rally drivers get accidents on the transport sections, but that is covered by the third party of the car,” Kabagambe said.

The Jinja rally will cover eleven stages of which one will be a super special stage on Saturday and Sunday. The drivers will then display their skills in the remaining ten stages on Sunday.

The rally will cover a distance 301km of which 179.38km will be competitive. Drivers including Dr.Ashraf Ahmed, Christakis Fitidis, Kephar Walubi, John Barrows have confirmed registration and entries will close on Saturday.
