Mukono missing woman found dead in Buikwe

BUIKWE - A woman who went missing on Valentine's Day has been found dead.

A man who was going to his garden along with his dogs landed on Jesca Nambowa's decomposing body at Kasubi village in Buikwe sub-county in Buikwe district.

The man alerted the area LC1 chairperson, William Makanga, who together with other residents, who alerted the Police.

The deceased was clad in a tight pair of blue jeans and blue jacket. The handbag which is suspected to have belonged to her was found a short distance away from where the body was.

On searching the deceased's handbag, Makanga recovered a national identity card, which they used to establish her identity.

Nambowa roots from Namulesa, Ngogwe sub-county in Buikwe district, but she had reportedly moved to Mukono town after a misunderstanding with her husband, Vincent Nviiri, with whom they have one child.

"We called people in Namulesa village, who confirmed that they knew her," Mukanga explained.

According to Hellen Butoto, the Ssezibwa Police spokesperson, the deceased might have been killed by her unknown Valentine's Day partner after they failed to agree on a deal.

Police said Nambowa could have been strangled because her body had a strap tied around her neck.

Among those who came to the scene was Nambowa's estranged husband, Nviiri, who explained that he tried calling her number several times, but it would not go through for the past couple of days.

"I kept calling her several times to come we reconcile, but her mobile phone was off. I thought she got tired of my endless calls and decided to get another line," Nviiri said.

However, Makanga though Nambowa could have just been dumped in Kasubi after being killed.

He warned the girls to desist from walking alone, especially during festive seasons.

The Police took the deceased's remains to Kawolo Hospital for a postmortem as investigations into the cause of the death are going on.

Butoto urged whoever had some clues regarding the murder to inform the Police in order to have the suspects apprehended.
