It was a sizable turn up at the second round of the national team tryouts that ended Monday; played at two venues; MUBS Sports Grounds and the National Hockey Stadium at Lugogo.
Meanwhile, a final 30-man team was expected to be announced sooner after the trials, but as it turns it will come out later.
The anxiety is quite inevitable as potential national team players wait until mid-January next year for the final call by the team selectors.
"The coaches have taken a critical analysis of the players during the camp. They will, however, make their final pronouncements next month" said Liberty Twesiime the Uganda Lacrosse publicist.
After securing the services of Coach Peter Ginnegar from Israel, Uganda expects good fortunes in the World Lacrosse Championships scheduled July next year in Israel.
Uganda's Patrick Oriana has already acclimatised to the surroundings in Israel having turned out as a franchise player for Barak Netanya in the Israel Lacrosse Premier League. He is one of the players expected to make the cut in the awaiting announcement of the national team.
Conversely, there is so much anticipation building around the World Championships with at least 2,000 athletes from 50 countries to brace the riveting contest.
Uganda in a way will seek to advertise itself on the international scene as efforts to grow the game home continue to take shape.
