Kavuma promoted to Major General

Kavuma has served in many command positions including Division Commander, Force Commander African Union Joint Task Force against LRA as well as Contingent Commander of UPDF in Somalia.



Brig Sam Kavuma the Deputy Air force Commander has been promoted to Major General and appointed Deputy Commander Land Forces.

He becomes the first to be appointed to this position.

Kavuma has served in many command positions including Division Commander, Force Commander African Union Joint Task Force against LRA as well as Contingent Commander of UPDF in Somalia.

He commanded a Division in Northern Uganda, operated against the LRA in Central African Republic and fought decisive battles against the Alshabab in Somalia.

He is also Chairman of UPDF Wassaco.

He undertook his Senior Command and Staff College as well as National Defence College Military Courses in Karen Nairobi.

Kavuma joined the National Resistance Army in 1981.
