Fishermen at Bukaboli landing site shocked officials when they asked for a disco dance instead of sh5,000 sitting allowance.

69 fishermen had earlier attended a meeting organised by Arise Africa a non-governmental organisation to sensitise them about the dangers of unprotected sex.

John Wanyama, the organisation's director, informed the fishermen that they would be given a transport refund of sh5,000 at the end of the meeting, to enable them return home safely.

However, the fishermen rejected the money and instead asked that the organisation organises for them an all-night disco dance.

With the request being unanimous, the organisers had no choice but to ask one of the fishermen to look out for one of their best discos within the town.
