The Inspector General of Police, Kale Kayihura, has appointed Emilian Kayima new Police Spokesson.
Kayima replaces Assistant Inspector General of Police, Asan Kasingye who took over the mantle following the untimely demise of Adrew Felix Kaweesi in March 2017.
"I won't have the leisure to do that as I will be taking leave of Spokesman function to concentrate on Commissariat work," Kasingye tweeted.
Kasingye later confirmed to New Vision that the IGP briefed him about the changes.
According to Kasingye, it was difficult for him to hold two offices. The spokesperson docket took most of his time.
“What the IGP has done is to separate the two offices. Kayima becomes the Police Spokesperson,” Kasingye explained.
