Museveni, Magufuli launch sh13 trillion oil pipeline

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and his counterpart John Pombe Magufuli of Tanzania have lunched the construction of the Oil pipeline stretching from Hoima to Tanga Port in Tanzania.

The 1,445km pipeline is expected to be completed by 2020.

The two leaders re-affirmed their resolve to execute one of East Africa's mega projects expeditiously as part of the efforts to transform their countries and the region.

The project will cost about sh13 trillion.

According to Irene Muloni, the energy minister, the pipeline will create short-term employment for both highly skilled professionals, semiskilled and casual labourers, totalling to 10,000 jobs.
