Security operatives re-arrest Kaweesi murder suspects

The suspects were granted bail and ordered to report back on the 23rd of this month.

COURT | KAWEESI MURDER

Panic ensued at Nakawa Chief Magistrates Court when security operatives re-arrested suspects connected to the murder of former Police spokesperson, Andrew Felix Kaweesi.

Seven out the 14 suspects had secured a non-cash bail of sh50m each and sh500m each for the sureties.

They include; Musa Ntende, Ibrahim Kisa, Majidu Ojerere, Umar Maganda, Hassan Tumusiime, Shaban Senfuka and Magambo Hamidu.

The Nakawa Grade One Magistrate, Noah Sajabbi, while granting them bail, ordered them to report back on the 23rd of this month.

After the court session, security operatives chased after the suspects, who jumped on bodabodas to get away as fast as possible.

Their lawyer, Godfrey Turyasiima, suspected that his clients could be re-arrested and  organised quick transport means to their homes.

By press time, three of them had been re-arrested.
