Mr. Kampala contender Isaac Mubikira is ready to ride on the absence of defending champion Andrew Ssenoga and former champion Ivan Byekwaso to clinch the Mr. Uganda Body Building championship title next month.
Ssenoga and Byekwaso are currently competing at a professional level in Germany, leaving a vacuum title. The competitions are set for November 19 at Hotel Equatorial in Kampala.
“I am ready to take my career to another level. That is why I have prepared very well for the championship. I believe I will win it this time,” Mubikira said at a press briefing at the University of Pain gym in Kampala.
His quest isn't likely not to come that easy following the entrance of of athletes like Daniel Mwesigwa, Brian Opendu and David Setaba.
“We have had more men register for the championship this time and we expect it to be a tight race. However, the numbers in the women’s category are still low,” Uganda Body Building and Fitness Association (UBBFA) general secretary, Samanya Ssentongo, said.
He said UBBFA will be introducing the muscle, physic and modeling categories, that will be competed for alongside the Mr. Uganda title.
In the women’s category, Irene Kasuubo is also ready to defend her title at the 27th edition of the annual contest.
