Black Creations holds maiden fashion show in Uganda

Black Creations CEO Joseph Tonye Brown said the clothing line will help create an identity for Ugandan fashion

Black creations collections is a subsidiary fashion company of Black Creations International, spread across a number of African countries. The clothing line has been non-existent in Uganda until recently, when they announced their official opening in Uganda.

During a press conference on October 17 at the Kampala Serena Hotel, Black Creations CEO Joseph Tonye Brown, said the primary reason for the opening of their clothing line in Uganda was to help create an identity for Ugandan fashion and jobs for the young people.

The invite-only show started with a cocktail party at the Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala. The red carpet event was emceed by seasoned hosts, Denzel Mwiyeretsi and Fabiola.

 


 

 

 

 

 

 




 



At exactly 8:30pm, the hosts of the night, Roger Mugisha and Malaika Nnyanzi, kicked off the show by welcoming the guest of honour, tourism minister Ephraim Kamuntu, who represented the president.

In his remarks, the minister applauded the coming of Black Creations Collections and pledged full support.

Models showcased gowns made out of African fabric, including the Gomesi and Kanzu.

Soul guitarist Kenneth Mugabi was there to entertain guests.

Joseph Sax, Myko Ouma and Lillian Mbabazi also performed.
