Ambassador Elizabeth Paula Napeyok last week presented her credentials to Sergio Mattarella, President of the Republic of Italy.

The ceremonies took place at the Quirinale Palace, the official residence of the Italian President.

Napeyok and her host talked about development programmes existing between the two countries and the need to foster further co-operation, according to a release from the foreign affairs ministry.

The ambassador emphasised the fact that Uganda is currently focusing on commercial diplomacy and the two principals pledged their full support in deepening economic ties between the two countries.

Ambassador Napeyok who previously served as High Commissioner of Uganda to India and Ambassador of Uganda to Paris was accompanied by Ambassador Mumtaz Kassam and deputy head of Mission, Victor Acellam.
