The Black Stars of Ghana have been hit by injury crisis ahead of their World Cup Qualifier with Uganda this Saturday at Mandela National stadium, Namboole.
Just days after Asamoah Gyan and Thomas Agyepong were omitted from the squad due to injury, now USA-based duo Harrison Afful and Jonathan Mensah also will not make the trip to Kampala. They reportedly have failed to recovery in time for the game.
The four join John Boye and central midfielder Afriyie Acquah, who were also dropped from the team for the same reasons.
This comes at a time when coach James Appiah Kwesi dropped brothers Andre Ayew and Jordan Ayew, claiming he wanted to give chance to upcoming players.
Ghana, who are in Kenya for a training camp, are expected in Uganda today. They are currently third in Group E with five points, four above bottom side Congo-Brazzaville.
Egypt tops the group with nine points, while Uganda is second with seven points.
