Only one of the five vehicles that Butebo district received from Pallisa district is functional and is being shared by eight heads of department as the other four broke down and are parked at the district headquarters.

Gabriel Enyaru, the district councillor for Butebo sub-county and Butebo town council, said Pallisa only allocated them grounded vehicles.

"It is unfortunate that Pallisa leaders only allocated Butebo grounded cars. We shall petition Tom Butime, the local government minister, to clarify on asset-sharing", Enyaru said.

Joanita Nakityo, the chief administrative officer of Butebo district, said there is need to have more vehicles for the civil servants to deliver services.

"The only vehicle which is being used for all district activities is the one meant for me," Nakityo said.

"Regarding space, we are not badly off because we renovated and partitioned the available rooms from the two sub-county houses to ensure all 36 district staff have where to sit and work as we wait for construction of the new administration block. My emphasis here is on timely service delivery to the people", Nakityo said.
