Traders said Ngora town has only one latrine, which is also under renovation.

Ngora traders have been asked to keep the town clean

Residents in Ngora town council have been warned against littering the town with waste.

The LC3 chairperson of Ngora town council, Sam Otim, made the warning following the choking of the town on waste, which he said might cause diseases such as cholera. Otim urged all local leaders to team up and sensitise people on waste management.

He also advised the business community to be responsible for their environment, saying restaurant owners, butcher men and shopkeepers should maintain hygiene at their places of work.

"We must keep Ngora clean and it is you and your neighbour who are responsible for that" said Otim.

However, traders in Ngora main market who requested anonymity decried lack of latrines, saying it is one of the factors responsible for the unhygienic conditions in the town.

They said the Ngora has only one latrine, which is also under renovation.

"People have no option other than using unoccupied lockups as latrines and urinals. You cannot run up to your villages to ease yourself then come back for business" said one of the traders.
