Farmers told to record discoveries

Buikwe farmers have been asked to write down the solutions to farming they have discovered for record purposes, so that the generations to come can easily access the information.

It has been realised that a number of local farmers have new ideas and methods of farming that are undocumented.

Ruth Nabaggala, the agriculture market development officer of Participatory Ecological Land Use Management (PELUM), said the young generations will be deprived of this knowledge if it is not documented.

This was during the farmers' innovation fair that was held in Ngugwe-Buikwe district recently.

Speaking at the same function, Dr Joshua Zake, the Executive Director of Environmental Alert, asked the farmers to work together with the private sector to register their.

Under the same approach, farmers are trained how to do market research and build for their produces.
