Coach Peter Ginnegar will conduct a series of national team try outs

Uganda is taking the long road ahead of the much anticipated 2018 FIL Men's Lacrosse World Championship next year in Israel.

Newly acquired Israeli coach Peter Ginnegar will conduct a series of national team try outs in a bid to fine-tune the national side that is set to face the top brass of lacrosse playing nations between 12-21 July at the Netanya stadium.

"We have started the road to Israel and can only hope for the best," said Uganda Lacrosse publicity secretary Liberty Twesiime

The East Africa Lacrosse 7s on 12 this month come at the right time as Uganda will further use this as a pick-up opportunity and for Ginnegar, this will be his first major engagement with the national team. The seasoned coach will later conduct try-outs from 18-20 this month at the MUBS grounds in Nakawa.

Positively, Uganda's skipper Patrick Oriana has already acclimatized with Israel playing as a franchise player in the Israel National for Barak Netanya.

This particular world cup will be the first played outside a non-English speaking country and it should be noted that England withdrew from hosting the event before Israel submitted their first ever bid to host the games.
