Uganda joins the world to commerate World Population day

Uganda today joins the rest of the world to celebrate the world population day.

This years celebrations will be held at Madibala playground in Busia District  under the theme strengthen youth competitiveness for sustainable development .

 
According to the statement issued by the minister of state for planning David Bahati to parliament last week, the president is expected to be the chief guest with the main focus put on ending teenage pregnancies which have remained stagnant at 25% for the past 10 years.

Bahati said that the figures in Busia district are worse at 27% and wants leaders to assist government in ending child marriages
