Kaberamaido authorities decry encroachment on gov't land

Authorities of Anyara Sub County in Kaberamaido district have warned residents against encroaching on government land.

The warning follows encroachment on Anyara Forest Reserve by locals from Ongoromo and Ongisir villages.

George William Eemu the district speaker condemned the act and maintained that the district council does not condone the actions of the people there.

Eemu warned that the offenders risk being jailed if they remain adamant and continue cultivating on government land.

Issues of people encroaching on government land are rampant in many parts of Teso.

Authorities blame it on rapid population growth.
