Clad in white and pink uniforms, the old and young midwives swung as they matched in unison with the band played by Kyebambe Child Development. The matching that was flagged off at exactly 10.00am from Balya street by Dr. Joyce Moriku Kaducu, minister of state for primary health care in commemoration of the International Day of the Midwife at Boma grounds in Kabarole district. The day’s activities included: inspection of stalls, skits, speeches and awarding Jane Rose Kategekwa, a 60 year -old retired midwife for her outstanding performance. In a month of September 2013 Kategekwa helped 125 mothers to deliver at Rwiimi health center III in Kabarole district.
