Police have confirmed the arrest of the suspect in the Entebbe shooting that occurred on Saturday morning.

According to the Kampala Metropolitan Spokesperson Emilian Kayima, Stephen Onek aged 25 years a security guard in Askar Company limited (private security company) was arrested by Police after he put his boss on gun point over unclear reasons.

Speaking to media yesterday at Central Police Station Kampala, Kayima said the boss who had been on gun point called Police to rescue him.

"When Police approached him, he shot several bullets but was later disarmed," said Kayima.

He added that Onek is being held at Entebbe Police station pending investigations on the actual cause of the incident.

Kayima said many workers in different private security organisations have issues with their bosses but should be sorted out amicably other than shooting.

"Bosses should sit with their workers and look for solutions regarding arising issues," he said.

He said Onek will be charged with gun misuse adding that the situation is calm after the security guard's arrest.
